About 1,100 Ameren customers were left in the dark for a couple hours yesterday afternoon.

Ameren officials say a fuse blew at the Anna Street substation shortly after 1:00. Jacksonville Police say the outage was scattered in nature and affected residents and businesses near downtown and on parts of Morton.

Most people had electricity back on by 3:15.
