Salvation Army offering free money management course

The not-for-profit organization is hosting a free, faith-based, financial management course. Kelly Ambrose will be helping instruct the course. She says it can be difficult for many to manage what little income they have.
“This programming that we are offering is designed to help guide people to think more critically about the money that they have and how to manage it," says Ambrose.
Ambrose says the classes are free and open to anyone. The class will be held at the Citadel at 331 West Douglas every Thursday from March 14th through April 18th. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a $25 Walmart gift card.
Ambrose says today’s technological world makes it harder than ever to try and save money.
“We have so much coming in trying to tell us 'buy this', 'get this', 'you need that' and it's really hard for us to step back and say 'wait a minute, do I really need this? I really need that'," says Ambrose.
She encourages class-goers to attend the course from the beginning to get the most of the class.
Limited seating is available. Those interested in attending can visit the Citadel or call the Salvation Army at 245-7124 for more information.
