An informational meeting about an electric aggregation referendum on the April 9th ballot is scheduled for March 25th at 6 p.m. at the Nimrod Funk Building on the Scott County Fairgrounds.

SIMEC consultant Reg Ankrom will make a presentation and answer questions about the electric aggregation initiative.

The Scott County governing boards is using SIMEC as a consultant concerning the topic. Voters will decide whether the communities will participate in the electric aggregation program.

The plan is to lower electric rates for residents by shopping for different providers and locking into the lowest rate. The consultant, SIMEC, would pool several communities’ bids together to find that lowest rate.
